Which do you like best: Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri?

You’re missing out on a lot if you don’t use a free virtual assistant on your phone or other devices. I’m sure we’ve all thought about how much a personal assistant would make our lives easier at some point.

Even though a virtual assistant can’t pick up your dry cleaning or take you to your appointments, it can help you call and text people, set up meetings, and remind you of things throughout the day. Plus, you don’t have to pay for a virtual assistant like Alexa, Google Assistant, or Siri.

Alexa: Compatible With a Lot

Alexa credit by Amazon

Alexa is available on a lot of devices, but the Echo line of products from Amazon is the most popular. If you have an Echo Dot or an Echo Show, Alexa can help you in seconds with things like checking the weather before you leave the house, adding an item or two to your shopping list, or looking up the answer to a quick question. Alexa can even help you cook, though it’s much easier to follow a recipe if you have an Echo device with a screen.

Alexa is not yet built into many phones, which is a shame. You can use Amazon Alexa from the Alexa app on your phone, but the app has to be open in order for voice commands to work.

Google Assistant: Often the Choice for Android Users

Google Asistant

Google Assistant is built into every modern Android phone, but Alexa is only built into a few phones. Google makes and owns the Android operating system, which makes it easy for the company to add Google Assistant to almost all Android phones. This means you can say “Hey, Google” to get help even if your phone is locked, and you don’t have to open an app before asking Google to help you with your math homework or tell you something funny.

Google Assistant can make your day easier by reading you an article, ringing your phone if you lose it, screening your calls so you don’t have to, and so much more. Google Assistant can be set up on both Android and iOS, but many iPhone users choose Siri instead because it’s easier.
